Governments around the world are recognizing that with an aging global population, it is necessary for governments to require state agencies and corporations to ensure access for all citizens equally.

Equal opportunity to participate and engage in society is now deemed an inalienable right to all people in every state. With nearly 10 percent of the world's population, or 650 million people living with a disability, it is your responsibility to engage all members of society and to remove barriers any way possible.

Creating accessible and inclusive communications and communities is the first step to achieving full participation by all global citizens. Each country is developing its own standards to ensure its citizens are able to fully engage in their day to day lives.

Below is a list of all of the countries that have existing accessibility legislation today, or under development for an accessible tomorrow.

W3C Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI)

The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C)'s Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) is a working group who's mandate is to improve the accessibility of the internet for people with disabilities.

The WAI is focussed on developing approaches for web developers to utilize that if implemented, ensure websites are accessible and can also be displayed properly on mobile devices.
